15 December 2008@@@2nd Call for Papers,CUPUM 2009 Hong Kong 11th International Conference on Computers in Urban Planning and Urban Management (CUPUM), 16 - 18 June 2009, Hong Kong www.hku.hk/cupum2009 Second Call for Papers Deadline for submission of paper abstracts - 15 December 2008 For close to 20 years, CUPUM has been one of the premier international conferences for the exchange of ideas and applications of computer technologies to address a range of different social and environmental problems. First held in 1989 in Hong Kong, CUPUM has been held in many great cities around the world including Oxford (1991), Atlanta (1993), Melbourne (1995), Mumbai (1997), Venice (1999), Honolulu (2001), Sendai (2003), London (2005) and Igaussu Fall (2007). Selected papers of the conferences have been published in special issues of Environment and Planning B and Computers, Environment and Urban Systems. We are very pleased to announce that the Centre of Urban Studies and Urban Planning of the University of Hong Kong will be organizing the 11th International Conference on Computers in Urban Planning and Urban Management (CUPUM) from 16-18 June 2009 to celebrate its 20th anniversary. The CUPUM conference covers a wide range of topics related to state-of-the-art computer technologies and applications in urban planning, architecture, engineering, environmental science, public administration, urban management, and other fields. Any researcher interested in presenting a paper is invited to submit a paper abstract on-line before 15 December 2008. Abstracts should contain a title, a short description of the proposed paper topic, sources of data, methods, and a discussion of the implications of the research for urban planning and urban management. They should also contain keywords to identify the area of research. Abstracts should be accompanied by the name, affiliation, address, telephone number, fax, and email address of each author. Accepted paper abstract will need to submit a full paper for review by the Scientific and Programme Committee before 15 February 2009.
