Revised Specifications

Standard Specifications for Concrete Structures 2010:
Revision of "Test Methods and Specifications, JSCE Standards"

"Test Methods and Specifications" as a part of Standard Specifications for Concrete Structures was revised in November 2010 and will be released soon by Concrete Committee in Japan Society of Civil Engineers. The revised points are introduced in this issue.

Disaster Survey Report

First report on damage situation of concrete structure by M9 earthquake in Japan 3.11, 2011

One of the hugest earthquakes hit North East region of Japan in March 11. SCE concrete comittee dispatched the 1st survey teams to heavily damaged area in Iwate, Miyagi and Fukushima prefectures. 1st reports show damage situation of concrete structures in areas other than coast hit by tsunami.

This recommendation was drafted by the JSCE subcommittee 276 (Chaired by Prof. Junichiro Niwa, Tokyo Institute of Technology) based on the outcome of 2-year comprehensive research. The recommendation was first published in June 2010.
