The paper describes results of experimental applications and discusses adaptability of computer graphics animation through the management phase of a dam construction project. Computer graphics animation was applied:(1)to simulate and visualize the concrete casting process by moving every part of a crawler;(2)to simulate a crawler crane layout to detect interference between the crane and the plant equipment;(3)to visualize concrete lift scheduling to see how rough sequencing affect the whole schedule and how related matters stand;and (4)to virtually complete the dam construction and evaluate environmental impact anticipated.Computer graphics animation was also applied:(1)to decide the effective lacation of parking lots for sightseeing,(2)to choose the color of outer wall and roof of management facilities to be matched with the dam and its surroundings;(3)to select appropriate planning trees around the dam and along the alternative road;and(4)to study the color and shape of lighting poles and railings of the dam.
