※Importance Notice
  • Calling for papers has been limited since 2004 to those on the topics that have been proposed in advance for the scheduled sessions.
  • In the Young Researchers Session, single-authored dissertations on discretional topics in the preparatory stage are expected to be intensively discussed, and presenters will be able to appoint commentators.
  • Papers applied for the Planning Session and the Young Researchers Session are required to be submitted in advance by the due date. Overdue papers might be rejected.
  • When contents of a paper applied for the Planning Session do not match the proposed topic, it might be rejected.

3. Sessions

 (1) Planning Session:
This Planning Session features intensive discussion on specific topics; forward-looking focus on practical and technical issues; and introduction of flash and fledging topics. Those who wish to present their papers in the Planning Session, please make an entry following the procedure below. Papers presented in this session will be allowed to apply for the Journal of Infrastructure Planning and Management which will be published in fall 2006.
 (2) Young Researchers Session :
In this session, mainly single-authored dissertations on discretional topics in the preparatory stage are expected to be intensively discussed, and presenters will be able to appoint commentators. Those who wish to present their papers in the Planning Session, please make an entry following the procedure below. Papers presented in this session will be allowed to apply for the Journal of Infrastructure Planning and Management which will be published in fall 2006.
 (3) Special Session (SS). (III) :
The Special Session is to be organized with the aim of broad view exchanges on on-going efforts for any topics and on flash and fledging topics. It will consist of meetings in the form of round-table discussion, panel discussion, and mini-symposium. Papers presented in this session are not eligible for applying for the Journal of Infrastructure Planning and Management which will be published in fall 2006.

4. Entry procedures for the Sessions4.
 To make an entry of paper presentation in a Session, online or post application is required. There may be a case that part of paper presentations are turned down depending on no. of applications.

1) Deadline (for both online and post application) :
March 25, 2005 (for post application, as indicated by the postmark on the envelope.)

2) Required information (for post application, the format is free and A4 size paper should be used.)
 (I) Planning Session (I)
            a)Choose one Sub-Session among those on Table 1 and specify its topic.
        b)b) Names of the presenter/co-authors and the affiliations,
            c)Contact address (name, zip code, address, tel. and fax. no., e-mail address (a must))
        d)Paper title and the abstract (within about 400 Japanese characters or 200 English words)
            e)There might be a case that sub-session program cannot include all applied paper presentations.
          ※ If your paper presentation could be moved to another sub-session, please note it identifying the session title.
 (II) Young Researchers Session:
            a)Identify as your Session title as “Young Researchers Session” 
            b)Names of the presenter/co-authors and their affiliations,
            c)Contact address (name, zip code, address, tel./fax. no., e-mail address (a must))
        d)Paper title and the abstract (within about 400 Japanese characters or 200 English words)
            e)Names of commentators (maximum three in order of priority)

 (III)Special Session (SS):
            a)Special Session
            b)Name and affiliation of the session organizer
        c)Organizer’s contact address (name, zip code, address, tel./fax. no., e-mail address (a must))
            d)When the organizer prepares a paper, paper title and the abstract
               (within about 400 Japanese characters or 200 English words)
        e)Expected presenters and their presentation titles
3) The deadline for paper submission and a request of preparation of paper copies to be distributed at the presentation site

■Papers should be submitted in PDF format by 7 a.m., May 7 (Saturday) 2005. The PDF file will be used to create the Conference Proceedings on CD-ROM. Each presenter is asked to bring 60 copies of the presenting paper for the audience. Guidelines for a paper are available on the web site. As for the Special Sessions, advance paper submission is optional. Organizers could prepare only on-site materials (free format).

 The Conference program will be finalized in mid May. A 6,000 yen (tentative) entry fee per presentation will be charged later. Please note that the entry fee would not be refunded even if a paper manuscript was not submitted (including the case of overdue submission).

5. Conference registration5.
  All those who will participate in the Conference are required to make on-line registration on the conference web site during the period from May 9 (Monday) to 17:00 May 20 (Friday). The invoice of the registration fee will be sent to you later. An ID code will be issued upon registration. You will be able to download paper manuscripts using the ID code prior to the Conference hopefully from around mid May.
On-site registration will also be possible. The registration fee 6,000 yen (tentative) is to include the Conference Proceedings on CD-ROM.


6. Notes6.
 Pre-Conference Proceedings will not be published. Paper manuscripts will be available on site as presenters’ handouts or they will be able to be downloaded on the Conference Web site.
