1. Authors

Authors will not be asked if they are members or non-members.  However, presenters must be individual members of the Japan Society of Civil Engineers.  If this condition is not met, the manuscript will not be considered. Therefore, any presenter who intends to submit a paper has to be the individual member and to have own membership number by the end of August of the appropriate year.

 

2. Destination for Manuscript Submission

Annual Journal of Hydraulic Engineering Editorial Sub-committee (henceforth, called the "Committee")

 

3. Deadline for Manuscript Submission

The last day of September of the appropriate year. The manuscript and the manuscript outline will be accepted on this day.

 

4. Submitted Manuscript

As a general rule, the submitted manuscript should not have been previously presented.

 

5. Review Field and Review Procedures

5.1 Review field

Designate the field in which review of the manuscript is desired.  However, the field may be changed by decision of the Committee.  The review field names and description are as listed in the "Annual Journal of Hydraulic Engineering Submission Manual."

 

5.2 Review procedures

1) Review will be conducted in each of the fields listed in "Annual Journal of Hydraulic Engineering Submission Manual."

2) The Committee will review manuscripts and decide whether they will be accepted for publication.  As part of the review, the committee may contact the author with questions or request changes in content.

3) If an appropriate response is not received by a specified date following inquiries about the manuscript or requests for corrections, the committee will reject publication of the manuscript concerned.

 

6. Directions for Preparing a Manuscript

1) A manuscript is a draft used at the paper review level.  A manuscript following the style of the Annual Journal of Hydraulic Engineering should be converted to electronic format according to specified criteria and uploaded to the website designated by the Committee.

2) The number of pages of an article shall not exceed a limit of 6. Manuscripts exceeding these limits will not be accepted.

3) A manuscript must be sufficiently revised.

4) Manuscripts are limited to Japanese or English texts following the "Annual Journal of Hydraulic Engineering Submission Manual."

5) When a paper has been accepted for publication, the files for the final draft of the article converted to electronic format according to the specified criteria should be uploaded to the Committee website.  When a suggestion is made for revision, the manuscript should be submitted with the appropriate revision.   If appropriate revisions are not made, the Committee will reject publication.

 

7. Submission Method

The submission has to be made by a presenter only through the Committee website. To enter the submission page, JSCE membership number is necessary. The same presenter cannot make any other submissions. To submit a manuscript, the appropriate items of the application form should be completed on the Committee website, and the electronic files of the article should be uploaded.

 

8. Copyright

 

The copyright of each composition published in the journal will belong to the author, and the editing copyright will be held by the Committee.  The Committee will administer the use of copyright privileges for each individual composition published in the journal.  However, the committee will not interfere with the copyright holder from exercising any copyright privileges.

 

9. Publication Fee

The paper publication fee for one paper is 17,000YEN.  However, if the first author is not an individual member of JSCE, 10,000YEN will be added.
