History

The Concrete Committee of JSCE was inaugurated in 1930 as the Board of Concrete Investigation.  It has the second longest history in JSCE following the Journal Editorial Committee set up in 1914. The committee changed to its present name in 1982.

Chronological events of its major activities

1931 Standard Specifications for Reinforced Concrete published.
1943 Standard Specifications for Plain Concrete published.
1949 Standard Specifications for Design and Construction of Concrete Structures published.
1961 Publication of "Concrete Library" series began
1986 Limit state design method was introduced into Standard Specifications for Design and Construction of Concrete Structures.
1986 English version of Standard Specifications for Design and Construction of Concrete Structures published.
1992 Publication of "Concrete Engineering Series" began. 
1999 Durability verification method was introduced into Standard Specifications for Concrete [Construction].
